May 4—SANTA CRUZ — Seminar examines PTSD in military veterans

The United Veteran Council, Santa Cruz Veterans Memorial Building and Vets4Vets will host a free seminar on PTSD from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at the Santa Cruz Veterans Memorial Building, 846 Front St., Santa Cruz.

Guest keynote speaker is Jim Kirlin, a U.S. Marine infantry Vietnam War veteran and the subject of a documentary on his combat experience with post-traumatic stress disorder issues. The event is open to all veterans, their families and to the general public.

A question-and-answer session will follow. Representatives from local veteran support services will be present to discuss benefits, housing, health and employment options.

Parking will be available in the city lot at Front and River streets. Cost is $1.25 an hour.
