--- "DO IT YOURSELF" ENTRY ------- PURPOSE: Modification to forearm crutch accommodates patient with decreased muscle strength in hands and wrists. Two inch wide aluminum strip attaches to shaft of crutch just above handgrip. Strip is molded across hand and attaches by means of screws to the open end of handgrip. Strip is padded with foam rubber and covered with naugahyde. Photographs included. COMMENTS: User should have near normal range of motion in wrist extension and fair shoulder and elbow muscle strength. SKILLS REQUIRED: Metalworking. Sewing.
