GOOD NEWS: Tau Lambda Study Club guest speakers discuss anxiety and depression

Jun. 7—The GFWC Tau Lambda Study Club (TLSC) held their 2023 Spring Health & Wellness Community Service Program on Mental Health on April 19 at the Ward County Event Center in Monahans.

Anxiety and depression were the topics of the program to bring awareness, support of these issues and learn how to combat their effects.

Guest speakers were the renowned Dr. Bobby Jain, University Distinguished Professor and Regional Chair for the Department of Psychiatry at Texas Tech University Health Science Center (TTUHSC) of the Permian Basin who spoke about "Anxiety and Depression in Adults" via Zoom. Questions and answers followed.

Attending in person was Dr. Aaron Kubosumi, TTUHSC Psychiatry PGY2 who talked about "Management of Anxiety and Depression."

Each speaker received a special plaque in recognition and appreciation of their outstanding service as guest speakers. Refreshments were served after the program.

The GFWC TLSC monthly club meeting is held on the third Wednesday of the month from September to May at the Ward County Event Center or as announced. Active women are encouraged to join.
