thank you letters - Gratitude through food, golf, dentist and hospital

Stuart News - 6/29/2018

To the lady who paid for my groceries at Publix at Oslo Square on May 25, thank you. I had forgotten my wallet and money at home.

I am a 91-year-old World War II veteran and proud I could help Americans who have repaid me many times over! Thank You.

Golf tournament will help veterans

The Martin County Veterans Council held their first golf tournament on 9 June 2018 to raise funds for our transportation program. It was held at Palm Cove Golf & Yacht Club and I would like to thank Shane and his staff for an outstanding job.

We would also like to thank all the businesses and sponsors that donated goods, material, time and money towards the Golf Tournament.

The Council is a tax-exempt organization providing services to all military veterans in Martin County. All members serve on a voluntary basis, so 100% of the proceeds received by the organization goes to helping our veterans.

The Veterans Council provides free transportation to elderly, disabled and needy veterans to the Veterans Administration Hospital in West Palm Beach. The council has three vans that make the daily round trips to the hospital at a distance of 80 miles. The Council transports an average of 2,000 veterans annually at no charge.

The Council also works to prevent veterans and family members from becoming homeless by providing financial assistance, including support in the form of a house or car payment, utility payments, etc.

Dental Center changed her life

I just wanted to tell everyone how Dr. James Strawn, the dentist of Midway Dental Center, cared enough to help me and has changed my quality of life. I had been to two other dentists with no change. I sing, and teeth were bothering my cheek for three years.

Thank you, Dr. James Strawn.

Thanks to hospital pros

Recently, I had had the misfortune to go to a hospital for the first time in 42 years. Fortunately, I arrived at Martin Memorial health care in Stuart. Upon arrival I was treated with the utmost care as I was in dire need. The ER Staff was most professional and proficient in my needs. To Todd, Dr. Diaz and all the ER staff, I'm grateful for your knowledge and professionalism in your treatment of my needs. After being transferred to the 5th floor I cannot thank you all for your care and professionalism. Amanda, my nurse, was a true professional!

Although I can't name you all, I'm grateful to you all for your care and compassion. God Bless you all in serving others and I'm thankful for your care to me. I've lived in many places but I can assure you, the staff at Martin Memorial is number one! I thank each of you!
