Map System

The MAP System is a bedside pressure evaluation system designed for use by people with limited mobility who are at risk of developing a pressure ulcer and people with an existing pressure ulcer. The system features a pressure sensing mat containing a textile that generates a small electrical signal proportional to the pressure on it. The signal is read, interpreted by the system's software, and displayed on a handheld display unit using a color scheme to identify high and low pressure points. The MAP System can be used on any existing bed. It allows caregivers to place and position the user in ways that decrease or eliminate pressure using actual pressure distribution data. It can be set to alert caregivers when the user should have a scheduled repositioning. The pressure sensing system can be cleaned with the same disinfection agents and protocols used on all sleep surfaces in the care facility. The mat may need replacement after six months of continuous use. Mats that are removed often or used with active bed surfaces, heavy people, or people that are moved frequently in the bed for therapy or diagnostic procedures wear faster. CAPACITY: 550 pounds.
