--- DO IT YOURSELF ENTRY --------- PURPOSE: To create a cane with an attached flashlight for individuals with balance, lower extremity, mobility and walking disabilities. To start, make two holes in a plumbing clip and then pass the wire through them to create a loop in which the flashlight fits securely. When the wire loop is complete, make sure that the clip fits the cane. To attach the flashlight to the clip assembly, apply pressure to the wire as the flashlight is inserted to keep the flashlight in the "on" position. Attach the clip assembly with the flashlight onto the cane. MATERIALS: A cane, a small flashlight (at dollar store $2); thick wire (10 or 12 gauge) solid (hardware store); a plumbing clip on a ring (also can be obtained at hardware store depending on the cane size). TOOLS: Wire cutters and pliers. SKILLS REQUIRED: Basic craft ability. AUTHOR: Nelson Yepez (nelson8815). TITLE: Cane for disabled with attach flashlight. WEBSITE: Instructables.
