Tactaid II+ is a 2-channel vibrotactile amplification system, similar in appearance to a body-type hearing aid, which turns sound into vibrations. Electronics include frequency and amplitude processing so that elements of speech can be felt through two vibrators worn on the chest or wrist. The electronics package with built-in microphone is clipped to the user's pocket or belt. An optional plug-in "tie clip" microphone is available. This device incorporates a patented automatic background noise suppressor circuit for use in noisy areas. It has a single sensitivity control adjustment and is compatible with FM transmission systems for use in special classrooms. A "T" coil is included for use with audio systems or telephones. The system comes with a plug-in charger, 2 lightweight vibrators, and either a chest or headband. POWER: 6 CH225 rechargeable batteries.
