--- "DO IT YOURSELF" ENTRY ------- PURPOSE: Toilet seat to enable persons with a hemipelvectomy to use the toilet independently. Describes a seat for a toilet located in an alcove so the seat can be attached to one wall and be pulled down over the toilet to rest on a bar on the opposite wall. The seat is made of 5/8 inch plywood, 15 inches deep with a D shaped hole, padded with foam (extra on the side of the amputation, for support) and covered with washable vinyl tacked on with carpet tacks.
