The Shower Aide is a transfer aid designed for use by individuals with balance disabilities when bathing to provide protection from falls and resulting injuries. The chair allows the bather to sit on the seat outside of the tub or shower, fold down the arms and swivel the chair to slide into the tub or shower and lock the seat in position. When the shower is completed, the user lifts the locking lever, swivels the chair back to the outside of the tub/shower, where the unit again locks into position for safe exit. Transfers can be made from a wheelchair, or from a standing position with minimal assistance on the part of a caregiver, if needed. The chair is made of stainless steel and guaranteed not to rust. It features a mildew-resistant, plastic seat and back. Some assembly is required; however, installation requires no tools and the manufacturer suggests assembly can be accomplished in less than 5 minutes. CAPACITY: For users weighing up to 350 pounds. DIMENSIONS: The rotating seat is 19.25 x 16.5 inches (WxD), and stainless steel bench is 33.75 x 14.5 inches (LxW). The bench is height adjustable on legs that are 30.5 inches long. WEIGHT: 38 pounds. WARRANTY: 1-year guarantee against defects in materials and workmanship.
