Simply Silly About Syntax is a language training system filled with low-level language exercises designed for individuals of all ages who need repetitive practice expressing basic three and four word sentence structures. This 280-page book uses Picture Communication Symbols (PCS) to create sentences allowing use by both speaking and nonverbal students. Several main characters are used throughout the book so that users get to know them and how they behave, allowing for comparisons and encouragement of language use. One aspect of this program is that the user gets to express "silly" thoughts, reinforcing that language can be fun as well as practical. The book is divided into eight chapters according to what parts of speech and parts of sentences: object, verb, subject, descriptor, verb and objects, subject and verb, verb an descriptor, and the entire sentence. The program focuses on the five main topic areas of grooming, meals, body parts, clothing, and chores. All chapters and topics use consistent and repetitive vocabulary so that the user may concentrate on sentence structure.
