Step Talk (no.1355), Conversation In a Box (no. 2394), and Hip-Step Talk (no. 5075) are direct selection communicators designed for use by children and adults with communication disabilities. These devices each offer 75 seconds of recording time which can be used for one message or be split into as many messages as desired. The messages can be changed as often as necessary. Step Talk and Hip Step Talk have large plate switches; the first activation plays the first message, the second activation plays the second message, etc. Pressing the reset plate returns to the first message. Step Talk is designed for tabletop use, while the Hip-Step Talker is designed to be carried in a zippered nylon fanny pack (included) worn around the waist. Conversation In a Box offers all of the features of Step Talk, but requires an external switch (not included). POWER: Uses four double-A batteries. DIMENSIONS: The activation plate on the Step Talk unit is 3 x 5 inches.
