Green Gate Farm
information provided by: the Worcester County Core Service Agency
Green Gate Farm specializes in Equine Assisted Learning (EAL). EAL is an emerging field in which horses are used as a tool for emotional growth and learning. EAL, like "Ropes Courses", is experiential in nature. This means the participants learn about themselves and others by participating in activities with the horses, and then processing feelings, behaviors, and patterns. The focus of EAL is not riding or horsemanship. Instead, it involves setting up activities involving the horses which will require the client or group to apply and develop certain skills. EAL is a powerful and effective solution-focused approach that has an incredible impact on individuals, families, and groups. The Hope Foal Project This program pairs at risk teenage girls with young horses saved from slaughter. The goal of this program is not so much about training horses, but about gaining self-worth.
