Akron Beacon Journal - 7/15/2019

The County of Summit Intercession for Dependency will celebrate its five-year anniversary with a new name.

The agency has changed its name to C.S.I.D. (County of Summit Intercession for Direction) and will now focus not only on addiction but also mental health. C.S.I.D. will celebrate the anniversary and name change from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the East Market Street Church of God, 2084 E. Market St.

Summit County Common Pleas Judges Joy Malek Oldfield and Christine Croce, along with Dr. Chivonna Childs, a psychologist with Portage Path Behavioral Health, will speak on the connection between mental health and addiction. Barberton Municipal Court Judge Todd McKenney will be this year's recipient of the "Road to Recovery Award."

The event is free and open to the public.
